Music

'The songs were very catchy and beautifully written.'

Edinburgh Festival for Kids on Dinosaurs and all that Rubbish 2022

I have a number of years experience playing and composing music for theatre.

I can write live vocal and instrument scores, teach it to a cast or create pre-recorded backing track & sound scape tied together in QLab. Whether it's acoustic folk inspired ballads, rock anthems or atmospheric synth with the sound of rain on a summers day I'm sure we can find the perfect soundtrack to your show. I have the capability to record live from my home studio in Bristol or capture recordings direct from the rehearsal room.

Little Red Riding Could

Roustabout, 2024

This sequel to the original fairy tale. For this piece the music and sound was entirely live and acoustic. This involved stomping on the set, howling like a wolf and using wooden bird calls to create a soundscape.

Everybody's Business

Roustabout, 2024

A wild journey through the digestive system! I wrote the music for the songs in this show that toured schools and festivals. Performed only on acoustic guitar. A Lamenting pop anthem sung by Mr Poo, about how he is struggling with his self worth. Another song bringing to life the famous Bristol Stool Chart. soon to be recorded and added below.

Dinosaurs and All that Rubbish

Roustabout, 2021

The first adaptation of Michael Foreman's beautiful and powerful book was presented online, using green screen technology at Giggle Studios to animate Foreman's illustrations. This involved narrating the text, adding some live action elements and puppetry. I composed and recorded songs and underscore for each 10 minute episode.

Dinosaurs and all that Rubbish

Roustabout, 2022/23

After further development we adapted DAATR for the stage. With a few extra songs it was a real rocker of a show! There were screeching guitar solos, singalong country bangers and a spacey ballad featuring a gorgeous clarinet solo.

The music from the show is also

available on Bandcamp.

Luna

Roustabout 2019

I was not composer in this show, but I was tasked with adapting two songs for acoustic guitar and two voices. A cover of the Beach Boys' Surfer Moon and an old folk song The Man in the Moon.

Tucked In Productions, 2012

I co-wrote some of the songs for this storytelling piece. It was one of my first projects as a composer.
